COVID-19

Important information for those enquiring about a COVID BOOSTER VACCINE.
The updated recommendations are:

  • New Moderna and Pfizer XBB.1.5 available now. Age and Health restrictions apply. For more information, read here.
  • People under the age of 18 are NOT currently recommended to receive a 2023 Covid-19 Booster. However, those over the age of 12 can receive one if they have medical comorbidities that increase their risk of severe Covid-19, or disability with significant or complex health needs. Please phone the pharmacy to discuss prior to making a booking due to the availability of suitable stock for this age group.

Travelling overseas? It's important to ensure that your travel vaccinations are up to date.

We can administer a range of travel vaccines in store. To minimise the risk of disease and illness, some planning is needed and one of the first things to think about is getting the appropriate vaccinations.

You should be up-to-date with vaccinations for tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis (whooping cough) and polio. In addition, travel experts recommend that measles, mumps, rubella and hepatitis A vaccinations should be on the list.

Please call us in store to speak more about this service.

Important information on the flu shot. All vaccines presently on the market are quadrivalent which means they contain 4 different strains of the flu, giving you a broader protection than previous years.

  •  Standard Flu Vaccine (FluQuadri/Influvac) in pharmacy we are able to administer this vaccine to those 10 to 64 years of age. The cost for this vaccine is $27.95
  • Flu Vaccine for those aged 65+ (Fluad Quad) in stock, $19.95

Protect yourself and your loved ones this flu season by receiving your flu vaccination in store with us.

The MMR vaccine stands for measles, mumps and rubella. It protects you from an infection of measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chickenpox) viruses.

This vaccine is the best protection against Measles, Mumps and Rubella and is highly recommended for all adults that haven’t already had two boosters, particularly those in high-risk groups like healthcare workers, parents or childcare workers, as well as those set to travel overseas.

This vaccine is not suitable for women who are pregnant or planning to fall pregnant soon. If you fall into this category, call your GP for more advice.

Whooping cough (also known as pertussis) is a contagious respiratory infection that causes severe, uncontrollable coughing that can make it hard to breathe.

Whooping cough can affect people of all ages but it is most serious for infants under the age of 12 months, as they have soft airways that can be damaged by violent bouts of coughing.

In Australia, around 64% of notified cases occur during spring and summer, and Australia experiences an epidemic of whooping cough every three to four years. Vaccination can help protect you from whooping cough.

Require a supervised RAT for travel? A supervised RAT is a RAT self-test performed in the presence of a pharmacist. Following the test, you will receive a certificate confirming:

  • Your pharmacist was witness
  • The test took place at a certain time and date
  • The result of that test

Our pharmacy will charge a service fee for the supervision and a Rapid Antigen Test must be purchased in store at the RRP.

Please bring your passport to this appointment.
